| 1987 : Pre-Eraserheads- Ely's first college band was called, Bluidie Tryste, from the freshmen's dorm, Kalayaan Residence
Hall at UP Diliman. The line-up was: Raymund Dela Pena (aka "Luci") - vocals, guitars / Ely Buendia - bass / Earl Pangilinan
                           - keyboards / Drexis Tabiligan (?) - drums. Their first gig was in a "protest concert" in the AS building lobby. A memorable
                           gig!

 - This band did covers by bands such as: The Cure, The
Smiths, U2, The Police, The Dawn, Van Halen
1988- By this time, Raymund, Marcus and Buddy were freshmen at UP
 - Ely and Raymund "Luci" wanted to form a new band
so they posted audition ads at Kalayaan dorm. Raymund (Marasigan) was the first to respond. His piece was The Cure's "Hot
Hot Hot". He later invited Marcus and Buddy. They jammed at Alberto's rehearsal studio behind the Nepa Q-Mart in Cubao, Q.C.
                           Nothing happened with that audition/jam.
 - Raymund, Marcus and Buddy formed their own band called,
Curfew. They had a lady vocalist named Candy Pelayo.
 - They covered bands such as:
The Primitives, The Housemartins, The Bolshoi, Gene Loves Jezebel, The Soup Dragons
 - Ely and Raymund "Luci" formed a new
band called, Sunday School. They only had session drummers and Raymund Marasigan would sometimes session
                           for them.
 - Wanting to focus on jazz, instead of "new wave", "Luci" eventually left Sunday School. Raymund brought in Marcus
and Buddy from Curfew and joined Ely; hence the merge gave birth to a new band called, Eraserheads.
 1989 : EraserheadsDECEMBER
 -
The "Eraserheads" combo was born out of two bands: "Sunday School" (Ely) from Molave Residence Hall & "Curfew" (Raymund,
Buddy & Marcus) from Narra Residence Hall; University of the Philippines, Diliman, Q.C.
 - Raymund would usually get them gigs around the campus. However, they'd
usually play last when the crowd was almost gone!
 - They did covers by bands such as: The Cure, Sex Pistols, The Beatles
 -
They had a small but loyal fanbase in the campus.

"Midnight's Children" & "X-Men" comic books. The Eheads were doing about 30 songs. The musical was later moved to FAT

they were pelted with "otap" crackers (the Eheads' first ever out-of-town gig!)

that time (Raymund was a student DJ at this station)
 - sometime this year at Club Dredd, Raymund walked out in the middle of their set because Ely & Marcus were

have jumped on the bandwagon & started doing "Eraserheads" specials. This CD has won Eheads new fans!
 For almost 8 years
now, CIRCUS - the official mailing list, is still active and currently experiencing an upsurge in new membership subscriptions!
Just a few years after the "falling apart"
