Tribute albums

Just a few years after the break-up, the tribute album Ultraelectromagneticjam!: The Music Of The Eraserheads was released in honor of the band. The Filipino artists who did their own unique renditions of Eraserheads classics include Imago, Orange and Lemons, South Border, Brownman Revival, Sugarfree, MYMP, Sponge Cola, 6Cycle Mind, Francis M., Rico J. Puno, and Radioactive Sago Project. The second volume is in the works.

Many people questioned whether the time was right for a tribute to a group that had just disbanded four years ago, with its former members still active in the music industry.Buendia, for his part, had mixed feelings about the tribute album, saying that "It’s too early to be taking part in it and I don’t see myself being part of it kasi (because) I’m still doing something here...To be part of it is like acknowledging na tapos na ako (that I am finished); isa na lang akong trophy na itatago na (I'm just a trophy to be shelved). Siguro kung uugud-ugud na ako (Maybe when I'm really old), that’s the time I’m gonna look back." Ironically though, he is featured in one of the tracks, "Superproxy 2k6" by Francis Magalona. Still, many fans - even some local bands active in the industry today - are hoping that the band will have some sort of reunion.

Book launch and mini-reunion

On February 28, 2007, the official launch of the book Tikman Ang Langit: An Anthology on the Eraserheads (2007) was held at the second level of Powerbooks bookstore in Greenbelt 3, Makati City. The launch was accompanied by acoustic performances by Cambio (whose members include Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Kris Gorra-Dancel), Markus Hiway (Marcus Adoro's band), and Lei Bautista of Prettier Than Pink. The performers covered Eraserheads songs such as "Ligaya" (performed by Lei Bautista), "With A Smile" (also performed by Bautista) and "Magasin" (performed by Cambio with Marcus Adoro). The event was dubbed a mini-reunion of the Eraserheads, with Marasigan, Zabala and Adoro performing together for the first time in four years. Ely Buendia did not attend because of a scheduled meeting with his surgeon and the manufacturers of the stents in his heart. The launch was attended by around 50 people.

Tikman ang Langit is a collection of essays about the Eraserheads originally written by fourteen journalists who are mostly fans of the band The book itself was compiled by Melvin Calimag and Jing Garcia, with a foreword by Eraserheads producer Robin Rivera. Tikman Ang Langit is considered to be the first published material about any Filipino band in the Philippines.

Musicians from the OPM industry gathered at Eastwood City on Sunday, January 28, 2007, for "LivELY: A Fundraising Concert for the Benefit of Ely Buendia." The concert, began at 3:00 PM at the Eastwood Central Plaza, and featured Filipino artists including Parokya ni Edgar, Kamikazee, Kitchie Nadal, Rivermaya, Itchyworms, True Faith, Cynthia Alexander, Sponge Cola, Dicta License, Francis M., Chicosci, Greyhoundz, Up Dharma Down, Paramita, Ciudad, Moonstar 88, Join the Club, Lahi, Oprressed, Makatha, Salindiwa, Rocksteddy, Swissy, and Julianne. The project was organized by local radio station, Magic 89.9, former Eraserheads road manager, Julie Pacaņas, director Joyce Bernal, PMX Audio, PhilMusic.com, and friends of Buendia, to raise funds to cover his hospital bills and medical expenses as he recovers from his recent heart attack. The event was open to the public and cash donations were accepted at the event. A huge part of the collected funds was also used to set up Heartist Foundation, Inc.

Notable in the event was the surprise appearance of former Eraserheads lead guitarist, Marcus Adoro who played reggae renditions of classic Eraserheads songs. There were also other special guests, such as Yan Yuzon of Pupil who played guitars for Sponge Cola.

Cambio History:

Cambio is a Filipino rock band composed of Raimund Marasigan on drums, Buddy Zabala on Bass, Kris Gorra-Dancel on Vocals and Guitars, Ebe Dancel on Vocals and Lead Guitars, Diego Mapa on also Vocals, Guitars and Effects.

When Ely Buendia left the Eraserheads sometime in 2002, remaining members Buddy Zabala, Marcus Adoro and Raimund Marasigan decided to continue by adding Kris Gorra-Dancel (from the indie all-girl pop-punk band The Fatal Posporos) as the new vocalist. After just a few months, Marcus Adoro also left the group to concentrate on surfing and following his own musical endeavours. Zabala, Marasigan and Gorra-Dancel still decided to continue by forming a new band by adding Ebe Dancel of Sugarfree and Diego Mapa of Monsterbot and lately, Pedicab.

Cambio is well-known for having songs about Pinoy Pop Culture, such as DV (Divisoria, a commercial place in Manila which is popular for having affordable goods) and Call Center (a budding industry in the Philippines)
